Introducing the In-Person Promo Assistant Tool

What is the in-person promo assistant tool?

Designed for in-person, on-site scenarios — on-site staff control the process and use the tool to issue eligibility to participate.

Supports two participation methods

1. Dynamically generate a QR code

Show the QR code to the consumer to scan, letting them participate using their own device.

Best for: promos with login enabled, or promo types where the prize needs to be tied to an account for later use

*Each QR code becomes invalid once it's used. Even if the promo URL leaks, anyone who obtains that link won't be allowed to participate.

2. Participate on the device itself

After generating a participation ticket, you can choose to let the consumer participate directly on the tool's device, without needing to take out their own device

Best for: scenarios where the participant's identity has already been confirmed in advance, and all that's needed is the prize-draw game animation — typically for promos where the prize is claimed on-site.

What kinds of marketing promos is the in-person promo assistant tool a good fit for?

Everyday in-store purchases

Exhibitions/markets

Pop-up stores

Different purchase thresholds unlock different prize draws, or a customer can enter a draw for a free side dish after ordering

A survey that only visitors who stop by the exhibition booth can fill out, or

leaving a social review at a market stall to enter a draw

A prize draw that only unlocks by photographing a pop-up store or holiday-limited display

The flow can be tied to adding a friend/becoming a member

Two core features

Feature 1: Eligibility distribution tool link

Brands can flexibly combine 20+ OCEP task modules to design a variety of promo conditions, and let in-store staff grant eligibility to customers on-site

Step 3

After confirming eligibility,

enter the number of entries

The consumer scans the QR code

and enters the promo

Feature 2: Prize redemption tool link

Redemption is restricted to the assistant tool only — beyond reducing the chance of a consumer accidentally tapping the redeem button, it also logs who performed the redemption and when

Setup guide

  1. Distribute promo eligibility via the in-person promo assistant tool

Go to Edit Promo > (1) Entry Eligibility > Entry Restrictions > (2) turn this setting on

Choose (3) "Generate a QR code via the in-person assistant tool for customers to scan," and this promo will then show up in the promo list inside the in-person promo assistant tool.

2. Redeem prizes using the redemption tool

Go to Edit Promo > Prize Editing > select the prize you want to configure > enter prize settings > (1) Redemption Settings > In-Person Redemption > (2) turn this setting on

Choose (3) "Show a QR code on the prize page, to be scanned and redeemed by the in-person promo assistant tool"

How to get the in-person promo assistant tool link

You can get the in-person promo assistant tool link from the entry point at the top of the promo management dashboard

  1. Tool entry point

  2. Tool link *We recommend only sharing this link with headquarters or senior-level staff.

    • Shows every promo with in-store eligibility enabled

    • Can redeem in-person prizes for every promo

  3. Single-promo link
The eligibility distribution tool link for a specific promo. For example, if your promo runs separately at each branch, you can give this single-promo link to that branch's staff only.

  4. Prize redemption tool link
The redemption tool isn't tied to any one promo — a single camera scan works for in-person prizes across all promos. This link can be given separately to staff who only need redemption access, without eligibility-distribution access

How to add staff who can use the tool

If you only want to grant access to the in-person promo assistant tool, choose the "On-Site Staff" permission level.

Tracking tool usage logs

Every promo's "Manage Promo" section offers a download-log feature, so you can see usage activity from the data.

1. Admin — eligibility issuance log

2. Admin — redemption log
