Why does a customer's receipt QR code keep failing to scan?

E-invoices display two QR codes. We recommend covering the one on the right and scanning only the left QR code to register the receipt.

Why did a receipt fail verification, and how can I find out why?

If a receipt fails verification, follow these steps to find the cause:

First, check the promo dashboard to see whether the receipt pulled any "receipt information" (blank = no data was retrieved).
If information was retrieved but the receipt still failed, the item keyword, amount, or seller's tax ID likely didn't match your promo conditions.
If no data was retrieved at all, first confirm that the receipt actually exists.
You can look up the receipt number the customer entered on the Ministry of Finance's website:
https://www.einvoice.nat.gov.tw/portal/btc/audit/btc601w/search

After looking it up, you'll find one of two results:
1. No matching receipt found: the customer may have entered the wrong receipt number, the receipt carries a company tax ID, or the receipt was already voided (e.g. a return) — in any of these cases the Ministry of Finance has no record.
2. The receipt exists: this means part of the information the customer entered was incorrect.

To pull data from the Ministry of Finance, all four of the following are required — none can be missing:
✅ Receipt number ✅ Purchase date ✅ Mobile barcode ✅ Verification code (for cloud invoices) ✅ Random code (for e-invoices)
The most common customer error is entering the wrong random code (e-invoice) or verification code (cloud invoice).

If that's the case, you can void the receipt entry and ask the customer to register again.

How do I let a customer re-register their receipt?

Go to Promo Management >> Participant List, search for the customer's entry, and click "Void." The receipt entry can then be resubmitted. Ask the customer to double-check their receipt details before re-entering them.
*Once voided, the entry status changes to "Failed" and this cannot be undone.

How can a customer check whether their receipt passed verification?

  • As long as Entry Eligibility has any login method enabled, customers can look back at their entry history at any time.

A customer bought a sponsor-exclusive product — why did their entry still fail review?

A customer finished the game and received a prize — why was their winning status later revoked?

If the receipt verification mode is set to "Pre-approved" and combined with a "Prize-linked game," the customer can play the game right after registering their receipt, and the system verifies the receipt afterward. If the receipt later fails to meet the promo conditions, its status changes to "Failed," and the customer will no longer see the prize they won.

Can a receipt with a company tax ID be registered?

The Ministry of Finance currently has no itemized details available for receipts that carry a company tax ID. We recommend stating in your promo terms that "receipts with a company tax ID are not eligible for this promo."

Can I export receipt details after a promo ends?

In the editor dashboard, go to "Promo Management" > "Participant List" > "Download Promo Data," and select "Invoice details report" from the dropdown to export a CSV of the receipt details.

What should I watch out for when sending e-coupons such as iCash gift vouchers or LINE Points as prizes?

In "Prize Editing," choose "Upload your own passcodes or redemption URLs." For an example of the upload file, see: sample file

Just organize the passcode URLs and their matching passwords in a CSV file, then upload it to start sending them out!
Once a customer's win is confirmed, they can go straight from the prize to the redemption page, since the prize is sent out automatically. Because of this, do not select "Pre-approved" as the verification mode — otherwise every entry could claim a prize before verification even runs.

What if a customer returns their purchase after registering the receipt?

If you're concerned that a customer might return an item right after registering its receipt, we recommend setting a "grace period." The system will re-verify the receipt one day after your chosen grace period ends, and only issue the prize once that second verification passes.

[Important!!!] Why does a customer see an error when registering?

If "Receipt Eligibility Verification" is set to "Real-time verification," the Ministry of Finance must have already received the receipt data uploaded by the merchant before it can return a result.
So if a customer registers their receipt immediately after purchase, the merchant's data may not have been uploaded yet — or the Ministry of Finance's API may be busy and unable to respond in time — and the customer may see an error. Below are the four error messages that can appear in "Real-time verification" mode, and what causes each one:

Error message

Cause

Screenshot

Receipt date mismatch

When the entry was submitted, the system checked and found the date didn't match the promo settings.

919

Incorrect mobile barcode verification code

915

The Ministry of Finance's system has no record of this receipt

  1. The receipt number was entered incorrectly

  2. The random code was entered incorrectly

  3. The receipt date is incorrect

  4. Less than 48 hours have passed since the receipt was issued, so the merchant hasn't uploaded it to the Ministry of Finance yet

Receipt verification failed

The receipt data was received from the Ministry of Finance, but failed system verification for one of the following reasons:

  1. Item details didn't match

  2. Amount didn't match

  3. Receipt date didn't match

  4. Sales channel didn't match

Can a donated receipt still be registered? Can the system detect and block it?

The Purchase Reward module checks whether the Ministry of Finance's API has a record for that receipt. If it does, and returns the itemized details, our system verifies whether the receipt meets your promo conditions.
(If a receipt has been voided, the Ministry of Finance will have no record of it.)

Donating a receipt only transfers ownership — it doesn't void the receipt — so the receipt's record still exists and can still be found.
If you're concerned that a winner's receipt might turn out to be a donated one, we recommend stating this in your promo terms or notes in advance:
e.g. "Donated receipts are not eligible for this promo. Winners must provide proof of receipt ownership before claiming their prize."
Under the law, a receipt that has already been donated cannot be reclaimed.

How do I change the company name shown in the consent text: "By registering, you authorize Feversocial (Together Information Co., Ltd.), on behalf of ( ) [sponsor name], to verify this receipt's eligibility through the Ministry of Finance's e-invoice platform"?

By default, the system uses the company name you registered with Feversocial. If you'd like to change it, go to Sponsor Settings >> Basic Info and update the company name there.

My receipt item keyword is set correctly — why does the receipt still show as failed?

  • Exact match required: Verification is strict. Make sure the keyword's uppercase/lowercase letters and full-width/half-width symbols match the receipt details exactly.

  • Cover every variation: If you're not sure how the product name appears on the receipt, we recommend entering every possible name variation to protect your promo.
