Voting Contest | Troubleshooting

Why does the system show that a participant's YouTube video link can't be played, even after I uploaded it?

YouTube videos can be set to Public, Unlisted, or Private, and Private videos can't be displayed.
If you run into a video that won't play, ask the participant to go to their YouTube dashboard and change the video's visibility to Unlisted or Public — it will then display correctly. (Click here for YouTube's guide on visibility settings)

Why can't I test the promo when I click "Go to Voting Area" in the editor?

To test the promo, click the "Test" button in the top right of the editor.

I noticed an abnormal spike in votes during the promo — what should I do?

Go to Promo Management >> Manage Voting Promo >> Vote Check in the dashboard to inspect voters. Click into each entry to see its aggregated vote count and IP addresses — you can also download the voting data to check voter accounts and IP addresses against the rules stated in your promo terms, and decide whether to remove any votes. We provide the data for your review, but the final decision on whether to remove votes or revoke eligibility is up to you as the organizer! (Click here to see vote-manipulation guidelines)

I set up daily voting, but a customer still shows as "already voted" the next day — why?

If you have a "sign-up form" turned on to collect customer information, customers need to complete the form again before they can vote a second time, so you can keep collecting information effectively.

Can a customer vote without filling out the form?

If you have a "sign-up form" turned on, customers can skip it and vote for the first time. But when they come back to vote a second time the next day, they'll need to complete the form before they can vote!
