Important things to keep in mind when running a contest promo!
Keeping submission quality in check
If you're worried about people maliciously flooding the contest with off-topic submissions, you can turn on the Review Entry Data feature, so you control submission quality through manual review.
Vote manipulation
Whenever you run a voting-style promo online, fake accounts are hard to avoid entirely. Here are the anti-vote-manipulation measures we provide:
Voters must log in to vote — you can choose whichever login method you want (Facebook / LINE / member login)
The dashboard includes a vote monitoring system so you can watch vote counts at any time and take action.
You can turn on reCAPTCHA verification in the voting flow to reduce vote manipulation.
Fairness
The dashboard doesn't support editing a submission after it's been entered — we strongly recommend stating this clearly in your promo rules, so submitters know to finalize their entry carefully before submitting. Otherwise, if a submitter sees their vote count isn't going well and wants to swap in a different entry, that would be unfair to other participants.
The system can't completely block every kind of vote manipulation, so we recommend not relying 100% on vote rankings to determine rewards or placement. Consider setting up a judging panel that controls 30%-50% of the final score.
Remember to include vote-manipulation rules in your promo terms
Here's some sample language you can use:
The organizer reserves the right to disqualify any entry with abnormal vote counts, without prior notice.
Each participant may submit only one entry, and may not submit multiple entries using different Facebook/LINE accounts.
If more than five accounts from a single IP address, or from similar IP addresses, all vote for the same entry, the organizer reserves the right to disqualify that entry and revoke its eligibility to win.
Entries must not violate copyright law — any images or media used must be original to the submitter, free of infringement, and free of content that violates public decency. Violations will result in disqualification, and any prize already awarded will be revoked and may be subject to further legal action.
If plagiarism, unauthorized use, or duplicate submission to multiple contests is discovered, the organizer reserves the right to disqualify the entry immediately.
Any form of vote manipulation is prohibited in this promo — if discovered, the organizer reserves the right to remove the affected vote counts.
Here's your contest promo menu — once you've decided, you're ready to start setting it up!
Setting | Your options | Helpful tip |
Promo timing & review process | a. Submissions and voting run at the same time | If submissions and voting overlap and you have review enabled, clearly state your review timeline so participants don't flood you with requests to hurry. |
Login method | a. Submissions and voting use the same login method | Voters are usually friends and family — consider whether it's worth having them added to your LINE official account friends list or member list. For submitters, choose LINE or Facebook login based on how high or low a barrier to entry you want (Facebook login sets a lower bar, making it easier to join). |
Submission count | a. One submission per person | If you allow multiple entries, we recommend not giving an instant reward, to avoid people spamming near-identical photos. |
Voting frequency | a. One vote per account | Multiple votes: you can set 2-10 votes or unlimited votes, but each entry can still only receive one vote from a given voter. If you're running a lucky draw for voters, voting more times increases their odds, since each vote record equals one draw ticket. |
Data collection | a. Submitters must fill out a form to enter; voters don't need to | Submitters and voters can each have a different form design. |
Reward design | a. Instant small reward for submitting, lucky draw for voting | [Submitters] can be set up with an instant reward (choose one prize-distribution game) plus a lucky draw (including designated winners) [Voters] can be set up with a lucky draw. |
How to create a contest promo
1. Click "+ Create Promo" in the dashboard, then choose the contest type you want to create
2. Enter the promo editor
3. Promo timing settings
Setup tip: you can set submission and voting windows separately
If your promo plan is [submissions close, then enter a review period, and voting only opens once review is complete],
leave a review window between the submission and voting periods — for example:
Submission window: 12/9 - 12/15, voting window: 12/17-12/24 (12/15-12/17 is the review period)
If your promo plan is [submissions and voting run at the same time], just set both windows to match!
4. Entry eligibility settings: a contest promo has two types of participants — submitters and voters
Configure "promo login method," "allow multiple entries," and "review entry data"
If you've turned on review, go to Promo Management >> Manage Submission Promo >> Participant List to review submissions
5. You can collect separate form data for submitters and voters
① [Submitter form]
Typically used to collect contact information for the submitter (or group), the original artwork file, a copyright consent statement, and other fields related to submission eligibility.
*If you have the submitter form turned on but review turned off, any submission without a completed form won't be open to voting.
*For multiple/daily submission modes, you can choose whether the form must be filled out again with every entry.
②[Voter form]
If you're running a lucky draw for voters, you can turn on a form to collect basic contact information (like name + email), so you can send winner notifications later.
*Even if a voter doesn't fill out the form, their vote still counts.
*For multiple/daily voting modes, that voter's account only needs to fill out the form once — but the next day, they must complete the form again before they can vote.
6. Use prizes to motivate submissions
Submitter prizes can be set up with a two-stage reward structure
- Stage 1 — instant reward
Given right when a submission is completed. If review is enabled, the reward is only given once the submission is approved.
- Stage 2 — lucky draw
You can set up ranking-based contest prizes, or a lucky draw open to everyone who submitted an entry.
After the promo ends, go to Promo Management > Manage Submission Promo > Winner Management to designate winners or run the lucky draw.
7. Use prizes to motivate voting
Currently, voting only supports the "lucky draw" prize type
- You can set up multiple lucky draw prizes, and can even design a momentum-building mode that encourages sharing — the more people who join, the more lucky draw prizes get unlocked.
- After the promo ends, go to Promo Management >> Manage Voting Promo >> Winner Management to run the lucky draw.

*Turning on an upload content field makes it required during the submission flow — decide whether to enable it based on how high a bar you want to set for entry.
*If submitters don't need to log in to submit, or the contest is designed for group entries, we recommend turning on a participant name field, letting each submitter name their own entry.
