This guide walks you through adding an "encrypted field" to your form, so your sensitive personal data collection meets a high security standard.
Step 1. Add an encrypted field
In the form question editor, after choosing to add a question, you'll see a dedicated section for encrypted fields.
Click add: click the "Add Question" button.
Choose the encrypted type: when choosing the question type, select the "Encrypted Field (PII)" section.
Choose a field type, and start editing your form question.
Step 2. Configure the field format and required setting
To make sure the data you collect is correctly formatted, you can configure additional settings for the encrypted field.
Set the field type: choose the type that matches the data you're collecting — for example, you can choose "Single-line text" for a national ID number.
Mark it required: check the "Required" option next to the field, so participants can't skip this critical information.
Save the question: once you're done, click the "Save" button in the editor.
Step 3. Notes on exporting and decrypting data
Dashboard decryption permission: only dashboard accounts granted "Download Data" permission (Admin and Super Editor) can decrypt data directly in the dashboard (no need to download a file — the content can be viewed right there).
Data export permission: only dashboard accounts granted "Download Data" permission (Admin and Super Editor) can download files that include encrypted field data.
